Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Director of Marketing to lead marketing efforts for all Whim Hospitality businesses and brands in the United States and England, including Camp Lucy, Whim Event Rentals, and The Old Bell Hotel. This role requires a dynamic leader with exceptional strategic thinking abilities, a strong background in digital and traditional marketing, and the capability to inspire and lead a high-performing marketing team. The Director of Marketing will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness, drive customer acquisition, and achieve revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives, enhances brand awareness, and drives revenue growth.
    • Identify and target key customer segments using market research and analytics to inform decisions.
    • Set marketing goals and objectives at corporate and business unit levels.
  • Team Development & Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a global marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
    • Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development to build a high-performing team.
  • Digital Marketing Excellence:
    • Oversee all digital marketing initiatives, including SEO/SEM, paid media, email marketing, social media, and website strategy and performance.
    • Own the management and ongoing optimization of all brand websites, ensuring accuracy, usability, strong conversion performance, and alignment with brand standards.
    • Leverage data analytics to track performance, optimize campaigns, and ensure a strong online presence across all platforms.
 
  • Brand Stewardship:
    • Ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across all channels.
    • Maintain alignment with brand standards while overseeing the creation of marketing and sales collateral.
  • Market Insights & Innovation:
    • Conduct market research to uncover trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.
    • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Resource & Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the marketing budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum ROI.
    • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies to effectively meet business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Sales Enablement:
    • Partner with sales, operations, and other teams to align marketing efforts with broader business initiatives.
    • Oversee the creation of sales enablement materials to support revenue growth.
  • Public Relations & Communications:
    • Collaborate with external agencies to design and implement impactful PR strategies.
    • Manage media relations, press releases, and both internal and external communications to maintain a positive public image.
Experience Requirements: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role with a focus on the hospitality or events industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies, preferably in luxury boutique hotels.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and SEO/SEM; experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing market conditions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills; ability to interpret data and insights to make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with project management software and marketing analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and design software is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events.
